Important mid-season reminder

16 Sep by Alex Hamilton

Hi everyone! This is a mid-season reminder for all Ashwood teams. Please take note of the following points:

-Player Availability: Coaches must be informed of your or your child’s availability to play by Wednesday night each week. If we do not receive confirmation, we will assume that you/your child will not be participating that week. In such cases, we will organise fill-ins to ensure the team is complete. If you subsequently attend without prior notification, please understand that a portion of your court time will be allocated to the arranged fill-ins.

-Punctual Warm-Ups: Please ensure your child arrives on time for warm-ups, as specified by the coach. We understand that unforeseen circumstances such as traffic delays can occur. If you anticipate being late but still plan to attend, kindly inform your coach as soon as possible. Players will not be allowed to take the court without completing an appropriate warm up to reduce the risk of injury.

-Respecting Coaching Time: From the start of warm-up until the end of the game, we ask that parents refrain from approaching the coaches. This time is dedicated to coaching, and their focus needs to be on the players and the game. If you have any questions or concerns, please direct them to the team manager, who can then relay the information to the coach at an appropriate time. Alternatively, you may speak with the coach before warm-up, after the game, or before/after training sessions. Similarly, please avoid approaching your child during breaks in the game or post-match discussions. These brief periods are crucial for the coaches to communicate with the team, and we ask that you respect this dedicated time.

-Spectator Conduct: We kindly remind all spectators that you are not the coach. While encouragement is always welcome, please refrain from coaching from the sidelines. We encourage positivity from our spectators at all times.

-Appreciating Our Volunteers: It is important to remember that our coaches are volunteers who generously donate their time to help improve your child’s skills and foster a positive team environment. They have the best interests of your children and the team at heart. They are committed to fairness throughout the season, ensuring that everyone is given equal opportunities.

Thank you for your attention to these reminders. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated and will contribute to a successful and enjoyable rest of the season for all.
