Ashwood Netball Club Grading Days

21 Nov by Sarah-Jane George

This year we are beginning our grading process in December to help us start planning teams for the 2026 season earlier. If we receive a large number of new registrations after December grading, an additional grading session may be scheduled in January.

If you have a friend who is considering joining in 2026 please encourage them to come to these sessions

We will use the grading days to observe:

-new players wishing to join the club

-players moving into new age groups

-combinations within teams where coaches have flagged the need for change

-overall balance and team dynamics

We will be avoiding changing teams unnecessarily. Where no issues have been raised and the group is functioning well, teams should remain stable. (This is also dependent on new players joining the club).

Ashwood Netball Club’s Team Selection Policy provides guidelines to explain our processes for selecting teams. (See Documents tab).

Grading day times are as follows. Please RSVP to the event that you are allocated to. (Do this through the EVENTS tab).

Saturday 13th December 2025

10am - 11:30am : Opens, Bobcats, Tigers, Topcats, Panthers, Ocelots, Wildcats, Cheetahs, Lions

Monday 15th December 2025

4:30-5:30pm: U9s U11s (Cubs, Kittens, Aristocats, Kit Kats)

5:30 - 6:30pm: Alleycats, Pussycats, Chantillys, Cougars, Tabbycats

Open Players Please note
We will only be running trials for senior players who wish to be considered for our Open 1 team. This is due to the longer match duration for Open 1, with games played over an hour instead of the standard 40 minutes for our other senior teams. Players interested in being selected for Open 1 are encouraged to attend the grading day so we can assess suitability for the increased match demands. If you are unable to make the grading date but still wish to be considered for Open 1 please email (President@ashwoodnetball.com)
