Important information from WDNA regarding the ongoing building works and the commencement of the 2026 Autumn Season

20 Feb by Jacinda Cadman (Autumn)

Hello Clubs,

We're very excited for the start of the season on Saturday, as I am sure all of you are!

Please read the information below from WDNA, to ensure everything runs as smoothly as possible.

Ongoing Building Works

The building works are still ongoing.

The area between the upper & lower courts is still under construction and cannot be accessed

On the lower courts, a temporary fence has been installed up against the new retaining wall.

As there is less space than usual, can the home team spectators please stand against the temporary fence on the retaining wall side, and the away team spectators stand against the fence on the car park side of the courts. Please walk single file to reach your court, and stand single file when spectating. We need to keep as much as possible of the court surrounds clear for the umpires.

On the upper courts, there are also temporary fences on the south side of courts 1-4. Could spectators please stand on the north side of the courts.

There is building work in progress in the area between the pavilion and the toilet block. This area is fenced off and the fence runs up to the edge of the red area around the upper courts. When moving past this fenced are please walk single file as close as possible to the fence. Wait until play has moved up the court before trying to walk past.

Scoring & Attendance Recording

As usual, scoring is performed using the Netball Connect app, so please make sure your scorers are assigned before the game.

If you have any problems with Netball Connect scoring please go to the control box before the game.

Remember to record your team's attendance in Netball Connect. We use the attendance records in Netball Connect to determine player eligibility for finals.

Umpires

We would not be able to run our competition without our fabulous umpires! Please be kind to them and show them the respect they deserve.

Umpires wearing blue visors are under 18 and should not be directly approached by coaches or spectators. If you have a question about umpiring, please approach one of our friendly umpire supervisors rather than an U18 umpire. They can be identified by their red vests.

Everything Else!

We're expecting quite a warm day on Saturday, so please ensure you bring & apply sunscreen. Note that WDNA does not supply sunscreen to players or spectators.

Please place rubbish in the bins around the court, and when leaving, look around and pick up any rubbish you see.

Finally - be nice! Please be respectful to our umpires, the club and association volunteers, and other spectators and players.

Good luck to all our clubs & teams!

Cheers
Mike
